We know, it has been far to long since we’ve done our regular Area Events rundown.  We apologize.  However, we are back in the swing of things again, so here is a look at what is happening in Green County, WI in the upcoming days:

~ It is baby back ribs night at Baumgartner’s in Monroe.  Mmmmm… They are serving from NOW until 8:30 or they run out.

~ Legacy Personal Training and Sam Messerli will host the Young Professionals of Green County on Thursday evening. Legacy Personal Training will be offering 1 free workout class session AND 10% off of class punch cards that evening. Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a free one on one training session with Sam Messerli. Not an official member of the YPs? No problem. Come on down, meet people and see what the YPs are about. Legacy Personal Training is now located at the corner of Hwy 69 and 17th Ave in Monroe here in Green County.

mtg~ Audition announcement: Monroe Theatre Guild is gearing up for their latest production. The romantic comedy “Almost Maine” is slated to show in March. Please be prepared to read from the script alone or with others. More information on the MTG website or by calling 325-1111.

mac~ The annual Monroe Arts Center Community Showecase of Talent is this weekend. This is the fourteenth year for the annual event which features talented Green County individuals and groups. Presented as a radio variety show, the evening will feature music, comedey, commercial jingles, and a house band. This is a fun evening for the entire family. No tickets yet? Contact MAC at 325-5700 or order tickets online, $10 for adults, $5 for students for the show at the Monroe High School PAC.

~ Practice for the upcoming Celtic Crawl by participating in the Belleville Music Crawl this Saturday evening. The event, sponsored by the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, takes place from 8-11 pm on Saturday. A $5 wristband will get you admission to all the bars with music.

snowshoes~ Get outside and enjoy the New Glarus Woods Winter Picnic. Come show shoe, cross country skiing hiking, then stop by the picnic with a dish to share. Get to know your neighbors while sharing a fun meal at the park.  Just because it is cold and snowy doesn’t mean that there isn’t outdoor fun here in Green County!

~ Come to Monticello on Sunday for the Fisheree-Chickeree! Bring your ice fishing gear to Lake Montesian and see what you can catch. The annual event has prizes for the largest fish in a number of species as well as the largest and smallest overall fish. The Monticello Lions and Monticello Community Club come together to host this event which raises funds for scholarships, parks, vision screening and more. Pick up raffle tickets for great prizes, and don’t forget to order your grilled chicken dinner. This sells out often, so order in advance through any Lions or Community Club member or through the deli at Gempler’s, Monticello’s own locally owned and independent grocery.

venture-crew~  There is still time to purchase your tickets for the Green County Venture Crew’s upcoming Chili and Baked Potato dinner on February 7.  Drop us a comment here or give us a call, and we will connect you with a scout for tickets.
